First off, don’t pay any attention to the gay basher above. That person has been reported to Yahoo.

Secondly, I don’t think online dating websites are for losers at all. Growing up in a small town I know all too well how hard it is to even meet an LGBT friend, much less someone of interest.

Now, to answer your question. There is more than one way to meet a girl online. You always have the most popular premium sites such as About.com or Chemistry.com. Pinkcupid.com is another online dating site targeted directly to the lesbian community. Online dating sites are a great place to start, however here are some ideas you might have overlooked.

Popular social networks such as Myspace and Twitter can be useful tools in finding a girl. If you have a Myspace account try this. Find a local LGBT Myspace page. For example, a LGBT support organization page, an annually Pride page, or (if you are old enough) an LGBT club/bar. Those pages use their social networking pages to promote so chances are they have loads of friends following them, friends in your area, friends you might establish a relationship with. You can use the same idea with Twitter. Find a page, search that page’s followers, find someone that catches your eye, follow them, direct message them, begin a conversation.

If you don’t have any luck finding a girl online, like the comment above, there is always life. Meet your friends’ friends. Join an LGBT support group. And last but not least, my favorite, volunteer with an LGBT organization. You’ll have fun, network with people, and make an impact within the LGBT community.

Please remember, if you do connect with someone online, be safe! Don’t give out too much personal information, and if you meet in person, bring a friend. There are a lot of creeps out there!

Hope this answer helps,
