My guy friend flirted big time with a girl on Twitter (she only started following him today), then when the conversation ended he deleted all of his replies to her except for the first one, which was "thanks for following."

Well, no one likes letting people see a trail of dirty undies on the floor. Maybe he was taken, had a girlfriend, and didn't want her to find out. If that's not the case, it's either he didn't wanna keep the conversation he had with her (for no reason, just felt like it) or didn't want people finding out he flirts with random girls on twitter.
