Should I get a Twitter?

I have never used Twitter. I don't even know what it is for. I like digital socialization, because the area that I live in is straight up dreadful. I plan on moving and having friends in PERSON, but for now I'm sticking to working a steady job and socializing on places like Xbox LIVE, Facebook, etc.

So can somebody give me a quick, yet detailed, explanation of what Twitter even is?

Twitter is a website where you can update your every move onto a posted status. Twitter may be the most pointless thing you ever signed up for but there are a few grooves to it. You can follow people to see what they are doing every 5 minutes of their lives 24/7 since they update so frequently, or people can follow you and then unfollow you in a day or two, and sometimes they unfollow you if you didn't follow back. You may gain 10 followers a year if you aren't a celebrity, and you can even upload a picture of yourself or of the food you bought, your outfit of the day ,or maybe even of your pet. Sounds great right?

Incase you didn't get it already.....yeah, twitter is pretty pointless.
