Do I need a screen protector for my tablet?

I'm getting a Nexus 7 tablet for christmas, apparently it has "Gorilla Glass" will it scratch easily? It's just I like the feel of glass.. also does it make the display look dull? I have a phone which apparently has gorilla glass and it only has minor scratches and you can hardly see them (Only if you tilt the phone onto light and look closely).. ive had it for a year and its been under sofas and on the floor (With no protector). Would it protect it if I dropped it? (More likely not to break) because I watched some videos on youtube and their phones didnt break with a screen protector on but did without.

Short answer: NO.

Long answer: The hardness of the Gorilla Glass is much higher than any plastic screen protectors. So, the steel knife will not scratch the the Gorilla Glass but easily cut any protective screen.

Yes,u have to take a screen protector for ur tablet,not for only antiscratch purpose but for other reasons also like when i bought my tablet i used it without protector &keep it here&there& after 3 days dont know how there are white patches on screen which are unremovable,those are permanent,it makes me feel very bad.i go to shop to remove those patches&he charged money from me,after this i bought screen protector.so,i must say please buy a screen protector for ur tablet,nobody knows what happens next,always walk on a safer side......

Gorilla glass will not get scratch so easily. Screen protectors are only good if u don't like fingerprint marks on the screen. Do one easy thing, don't get screen protector now. Use it for few days and if u feel a need then use one. Without screen protector its more clearer and wonderful to use. U pay so much money to enjoy the product and then why cover it with plastic so soon.
