Why does he keep touching me?

An old friend (We're both 17) that I don't know very well requested to follow me on twitter. We had a few conversations and he asked why i never texted him. I said maybe because i dont have your number? So he asked for my number and we texted. He invited me to his Aunt's wedding. He picked me up the next day with his mother in the car. We had to wait for the wedding to start i was watching movies on his computer. I asked him how to download shows and he was standing behind me with his arms around me to reach for the mouse. It was kind of like a hug from behind.
His friend came over so i went outside to read magazines. He came out looking for me and he pokes my face (?). When i looked outside his backyard. There was my best-friend's (who i currently like) house. I asked him if it was and at that moment, he pulled me closer to him. (It wasnt like a pedo way so dw). On the way to the wedding, everytime his mum turns left, he leans over to me. When his mum turns right, i do it back to him. At the wedding, he took photos and had a mini fight about something (forgot), and he pinched (lightly) my thighs. So i did it back. I then punched his thighs and he did it back. I did it once more and he full flinched. He hid this present that was given to every guest that comes to the wedding that i wanted. He hid it near his crotch so i can take it. Is this like considered as flirting? All of this? Because i dont know when people are flirting with me. So i dont do it back, or i dont know if what i was doing was considered as flirting. When all the single ladies were being asked to come up front to get ready to catch the bride's flower, he told me to get up. I said "Who said i was single?" And he gave me a look like "Why are you with me if you're not single". And then asked "Are you single? O.o" (I am). Later, he got a wet tissue and shoved it on my face and the old couple on the table with us were laughing. It felt nice when we touch though. Like when he puts his arms around me or my waist hehe.
Towards the end of the wedding, he was standing behind me and hugged me from behind for a few seconds. Why? I have no idea.
When i got home, he texted me that he had a good time and that we should hang and talk more.
Ok, what does all of this mean? I'm hopeless at these things. I don't even notice when hints are right in front of me until someone tells me.
I hardly know him. Although we had mutual friends and i met him at my birthday outing at a restaurant. (2010).
Oh, he has had girlfriends. It looks like he knows what he's doing as well. I think i should just be aware as he could do this to other girls too.
