Do many people really use Twitter?

I was never a member of Twitter and I only joined recently. I hope to hook onto some friends that I know there. However, when I go online to search for my friends, I found most of them are not on Twitter at all. Twitter requests to search my emails in its attempts to search for a contact in Twitter but to my surprise, most of them are not in it. Ironically, they use these same emails in Facebook, meaning they could not have discarded these emails.

Do many people really use Twitter or am I the only unlucky one with friends that don't use Twitter? I had honestly hope to follow what my friends are doing. Somehow, I can't. They are not on Twitter. : (
Even now I cannot help but feel lost. I just came out of it but I could not find anyone while in there except for one or two people. : (

Idk why i would have like 5 things facebook twitter, all this stuff i just stay with facebook and keep it easy savvy?

oh yes! many people use twitter! however, it is not very popular for social networking for informal contacts like friends and family...it is more useful for sharing things among people with similar interests...that's the reason one could find so many academicians and magazines on twitter...

Yes they are... First of all you all must know facebook is completely different from twitter... If you wanna know whether twitter is used by most people are not??? Here is the example can you find your favourite movie or music artist facebook official profile??? But you can in twitter!!! You can interact with them too... So go ahead utilise the twitter... If your friends not in there invite them...
