What is this blade on Victorinox army knife?
I found a blade in my Victorinox army knife whose purpose I don't know.
Could anyone tell me its name and purpose(s)? It has a sharp point, which seems to be good for stinging something, and has an oval hole in the middle of the blade. It is narrower than other blades and attached on the same side as the cork screw. I uploaded the photo of it. https://twitter.com/eman_nep_moggy/statu...to/1/large Ads |

That's an "awl". You can use it to punch new holes in a leather belt, or make a starter hole for a screw in wood.
I'm not sure what the hole can be used for; perhaps stripping wire. Ads |

It is an awl and the hole is for pulling thread/twine/leather lace etc.

I don't know the intent, but most wire strippers used professionally http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000030...B0000302WM have a small hole near the cutting blade for bending solid wire to be shaped for screw terminals.
