Additional emails are recommended to recover your main email, such as lost passwords or security issues.

Hi Debby,

Please follow these steps to set up an extra email address:

1.In Yahoo! Mail, select Options | Mail Options.

2.Select Mail Accounts in the left column, then click Create an extra email address.

3.In the "Extra Email Address" section, either type whatever new address you'd like to try (we'll tell you if it's already taken) or use one of our suggestions on the right.

4.Click Choose.

Upon completion, your extra address will appear in the list of Yahoo! Mail accounts shown on this page.

Note: To help prevent spamming, Yahoo! only allow you to change your extra address twice in one year.

Hope this helps. Smile

If you want a BRAND NEW account with all new details, sign out of your account, then on the new sign-in page, click 'Create a New Account' or click this link and fill out the form to create a new account. http://www.yahoo.com to click 'Sign up'.
You can then import your Contacts list from the old account to keep them. Mail will go to either account, but they are separate. Sign out of one account to sign in again to the other on the same computer. Remember to sign in every six months, or the account goes dormant and is closed forever.
HINT: Do not close an old account until you have imported your Contacts list and forwarded any important saved mails to the new one. These mails will show as being From: yourself with today's date, so if that information is very important, note that in the Subject header before forwarding.

If you open an ALIAS account you will not lose anything (contacts, address list, saved mails, folders.) If someone sends mail to the old e-mail address, it will go to the same Inbox so you don't lose any messages. There is then a drop-down menu at the right in From: where you can choose which address to use to send mail. Use it just as you would your primary address (which of course you can still use). You can send and receive email from either address from the same Inbox ...
http://edit.yahoo.com/config/list_alias

To create a new alias (only one):
- Go to your Account Information page. (Options, Mail Options, Accounts, (in list on left)
- Click Create extra e-mail address (or Manage your Yahoo Aliases) and enter the desired alias you would like to associate to your account ...
- Be sure to click Save.
- You can even use a dot (period . ) or underscore ( _ ) in the middle of your username if other choices are already taken in Yahoo
