How would you deal with self embarrassment?
I have had severe scoliosis since i was born, it makes me look very different, i have a twitter and other accounts that require me to have a picture, instead of putting one of myself i put a picture of a band i like or of a movie i like because i am scared of people looking at the real me. I want to know how people would deal with this type of situation. This is a very sensitive question so please be nice.

I had never heard of this condition until now so I looked it up and it now know a little about it. There are therapy options that help and presumably you are receiving help with this problem and I hope that you will have helpful results.
I worked for many years with intellectually disabled adults and I am aware that unfortunately they can be looked down on by some people and in addition some of them had physical deformities and this is usually more easily noticed by the public than intellectual disability. When taking these people out on excursions we just ignored any glances from people and carried on just as we pleased doing whatever we were doing such as at the beach or at a park or in shops or whatever. Most people did not stare they just had a look and then that was all.
The most important thing is to not hide away and to have friends who support you and who will accompany you sometimes and just ignore any looks from people and hold your head up and act confident even if you do not feel confident. Be sure to speak for yourself when dealing with people do not stand back and have some well meaning relative or friend speaks on your behalf , speak up loud and clear , you are as much a member of the human race as anyone else , we all have our disabilities none of us are without fault , it is just that in the case of some people their disability is more visible than with others .
