Online sites or other ways to increase restaurant awareness?

I live in Vancouver BC and am looking for ways to expose our restaurant to a wider client base. We have a good location, unique food, great cocktails,wine, beers, and excellent service at reasonable prices. The challenge is getting our name out to the business and residents within the direct area- lunch and drink specials, catering, etc. Traditional newspaper/radio etc does not generate enough revenue to cover the cost, and most people throw out mail flyers without even reading them Any ideas are most welcome!
