How to get 1000 subscribers on YouTube?

How do people manage to get 1000s of subscribers on YouTube in a few months? Me and my friend have been on YouTube for a year and gotten 273 subscribers.

We post regular videos that get positive feedback and likes
We post on Facebook and Twitter
We follow the YouTube handbook
And we advertise our channel!

Any help will be appreciated

Try making good videos that everyone could watch, be entertaining and be positive. Do giveaways and stuff like that. Share your videos on social networks, share it to your friends. Do video responses, make a good title and description. Try to do do recent topics today, recent stuff, recent product and etc. Be funny.

Well, I'm not sure what kind of videos you make but people get 1000's of subscribers because they're entertaining to watch and appeal to a lot of people, whether that's by making people laugh or giving good advice or whatever. You could also try reminding people at the end of your videos to Like, Comment, Subscribe etc.
