Why do people act so rude towards those who have different beliefs or ideas than them?
It's rude! For example with the Pope on twitter. Like I know "it's just twitter" or whatever but he's not asking you to follow him or tweet him if you don't want to yet most of the people tweeting him are just being rude assholes.
I see that all the time even here in Y!A, on Tumblr, everywhere basically and I don't get it. Why do people feel entitled to do that or feel like we all should think as they do otherwise we are idiots. What about live and let live. Ads |

Because the belief system teaches them certain ways to act and react to things and people realize people outside the group believe very different. It is intolerance.
in·tol·er·ance [in-tol-er-uh ns] Show IPA noun 1. lack of toleration; unwillingness or refusal to tolerate or respect contrary opinions or beliefs, persons of different races or backgrounds, etc. 2. incapacity or indisposition to bear or endure: intolerance to heat. 3. abnormal sensitivity or allergy to a food, drug, etc. 4. an intolerant act. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Origin: 1755–65; < Latin intolerantia. See intolerant, -ance People can though, choose to be tolerant and accept people no matter what they believe and not hate others by joking about other religions that are not your own. Ads |
