Planning my 17th birthday party, A bit long, due to questions though!?
Okay, so my birthday is in September, i know i have like nine months until my birthday, but i need to plan now, so i know what i'm saving up for, and so i can book a location.
So i'm turning 17 in September and because i didn't have a sweet 16 instead i had a let my ex be a dick day and ruin my birthday for me, i want a big 17th birthday!
So i want a really mad as theme! Not one that people have to spend heaps on to dress for it, just something simple and something that is going to be fun and easy going!
I have a job starting soon, so some of my money from work will be put into savings for my birthday party.
I will be having security at my party as i don't want it ruined by gatecrashes!
So here are some questions for you's to answer!
Please try and give me a bit of information, 5 stars to best answer, Also if you have a question that you want answered link it, but please answer mine as good as possible Smile Just note i live in Sydney Australia, so it would be helpful if your answers were based on sydney, not america. thanks Smile
Questions:
1) Venues?
2) Themes?
3) Security (like how many guards security guys?)
4) Food and Drink? (no alcohol)
5) Extra party items? (like fog machine?)
6) Should i hire a Dj or not? (are they expensive?)
7) Extra information you could give me?!

Thank you all!

Venue - somewhere well known so its easy for people to find and easy enough to get there and get back home

Themes - 70's, 80's, doctors & nursers, convicts, moulin rouge, hippys, disney, rockers, pop stars, grease

Security - depending on how many people your inviting I'd say start off with 2.. Only invite people who you know won't cause any trouble and ruin your big night

Food & Drink - look online for some recipes for fruit punches, there's lots of different ones to suit everyone, squash, juice, non alcoholic wine/beer, pop. Cakes, crips, nuts, finger food like mini sausage rolls, cheeses, garlic bread, pickled onions, sandwiches with various fillings, cocktail sausages etc

Extra Party Items - depending on your money situation.. Look online there's a lot of ideas like snow maches, bubble machines, maybe make some party bags (obviously put things in them for your age group), laser lights, chocolate fountain with marshmellows and fruit to dip in, slush machine, pop corn maker..

Dj - yeah I'd definitely hire a dj then your not in charge of the music and he'll play something that everyone likes and your guests can make requests to him. Dj aren't that much money but each dj varies depending on how long you want to hire him etc

Extra Info - make sure you don't brag about your event on twitter/facebook etc or you risk uninvited people trying to cash it, shop around for all your props, don't just buy the first you see, most things are a lot cheaper online. Hope this helps and enjoy your party, happy birthday for September Smile
