I saw soulja boy interviewed on the VIEW. He said he got started on YouTube , Myspace, and Facebook. He made his money from selling ringtones and music on iTunes. You might search for the interview so you can watch it yourself.
I myself no nothing of the subject but I figured I would pass this along.
