Am I too innocent and boring?
i'm 14, and the majority of the girls in my school are very...idk how to say it. they dress in heels, low tight shirts that show a lot of cleavage, super short shorts or tight leggings, HEELS?! and they wear horrible makeup (raccoon eyes) and have had from 3-10 boyfriends. I haven't met one person who doesn't curse, and the people in my school try to be ghetto and stuff and curse a lot.
Idk maybe i'm too...innocent. even my own aunt has said it. I always wear clothes that cover my body and don't show off any cleavage WHATSOEVER I would be so ashamed to be seen by my parents and embarrassed if I ever even did. I wear pretty clothes, but not like the girls in my school do. i'm saving heels for my high school years (16,17) and I wear light, natural pretty makeup. I don't curse and i'm really quiet because I don't like to engage with those type of people who curse and dress like that...so people think i'm weird. people mistaken me for a 7th grader. I mean, I watch shows like glee, American horror story, etc...and i'm caught up with those annoying "dirty" jokes and I'm not STUPID I just don't like saying them.
is there something wrong with me?

oh, and while almost every girl in my school has had a boyfriend, i'm embarrassed to have one!

oh and I don't have an fb, twitter, instagram, ANYTHING. I think it's a waste of time, and people are shocked and continuously bug me about it. Maybe it's the area where I live... I just hate it and I have my friends and stuff but they curse and stuff and make fun of people... I hate it.

I was exactly the same as you at your age and guess what? Who's the successful one today? You sound very mature and down to earth. You know what you want in life and you're not a follower. It's much better to be innocent than vulgar, slutty, etc. Just enjoy your youth and keep the faith. Please keep dressing modestly; that's so much classier. Hold your head up; you're a smart cookie. God bless!

No, you are not too innocent or boring.
In fact, it is refreshing that you realize the differences between your real self and the trends out there.

There's nothing wrong with following a trend, if it is what someone enjoys, but all too often people (young and old) adapt a habit or mannerism (ex. cursing, a particular attire) only because they feel pressured to follow others or are insecure with their true self.

I am sure it can be uncomfortable to be in ther minority (not dressing slutty, being mindful of your language), but stay strong and true to yourself. Your true friends will be appreciative for the "real" you.

You are not innocent [in a bad way] nor are you boring; you are perfect... different individuals have different comfort levels, and it seems like you don't do what the majority of girls "are doing" because of your own personal perspective, and that's perfectly fine.

Showing cleavage and wearing short, tight closing with heavy makeup seems very mainstream these days, and I'm not surprised people around your age have started doing it to feel "sexy". In fact, what makes them think they're sexy may just in reality make them appear as sl**s to others. I know exactly what you mean, because I was this exact same position around your age (guessing you're in 9th grade). I didn't say any profanities back then, covered up all over because I wasn't comfortable being showy (not that I had anything to show in the first place), didn't speak unless asked, and didn't want a boyfriend (not because I didn't want company, but because I wouldn't have known how to handle people -- I guess this trait comes with being introverted, huh? xd). While some of these traits are starting to dissolve slowly, others are still intact. For example, to this day, I am 18 years old and I STILL have never said a profanity in public, and when I type curse words (minimal chance), I block them out (like b****, s***, ****, c***, etc.) simply because blatantly expressing vulgar words make me uncomfortable. Same goes with any type of drug or alcohol, while I'm sure that students around my age underage drink regularly at weekend parties. Lucky, I am not influenced by such people.

You will learn to move at your own pace and see for yourself what you can and want to let yourself do. Just because you "go against the flow" does not mean you are boring. It just means you are able to stand up for yourself and your limits instead of forcing yourself to behave like the modern sl** in your school.

Oh, and being innocent isn't bad; I've been called that tons of times before Wink maybe you're a TAD innocent, but it's not because you're oblivious.. it's because you're uncomfortable with things that girls around your age shouldn't be doing in the first place, and that's perfectly fine. It makes you just, in fact.

[Sorry if that last statement sounded harsh and judgmental; was not supposed to seem like that u.u]
