Would buy facebook stock for your IRA portfolio?
1) Would you buy facebook stock for your IRA portfolio?
2) Do you think Facebook will reach it's IPO price of $38-$45 before the end of 2012? Ads |

I wouldn't do it because a lot of people believe that Facebook is a fad.

1) No, I want higher quality stocks rather than something speculative.
2) I doubt it. The lockup period for insiders expires 6 months after the IPO. That is a massive supply of stock whose sale that could push the price down. The market knows this is coming, which probably caps the price of the stock. FB reports quarterly earnings twice between now and year end. If those reports show revenues and earnings well above expectations, that could be the catalyst for a higher price. |

Seriously? FaceBook may be a good company... but it's a lousy stock. Why take the risk at all with so many better opportunities out there?
