My school does not even have the pledge of allegiance. Comments?
Ok, before i here someone comment on how "This is in the wrong section" well i put it here for a good reason. i want to get it from some of our people serving and keeping america safe.
My high school, in Massachusetts does not even have the pledge of allegiance in the morning. Now the debate on if everyone should have to preform the pledge is one thing because tech is would be interfering with our first amendment (all aside my personal felling is that america is offering you this life you are so favored with the least you can do is pledge your allegiance)

but aside from that we are not even offered it in the morning. we have plenty of time for the morning news about stupid stuff about nothing important that takes up 5 minutes of our day but we don't have time for the pledge. I mean come on, this is crazy.

whats even scarier is it seems i am the only one that actually cares. sometimes it feels like i am the only student actually worried about the direction of the country and everyone else only cares about celbs and twitter.

so what do you think, now before i end this one other thing is we did not even mention at any point during the school day about pearl harbor on the date of pearl harbor.
and for the guy who said to stop my yapping and serve the nation, i am 16. i cant join without and highschool deplorably and first i am going to west point or a military academy
"diploma sorry haha d@mn spell check

Half a minute more for you to learn math.

What's crazy is the belief that forcing children to recite a pledge to an idol is somehow a necessity.
You'd merely force a patriotic religious ritual on people, for no reason.

You're on the same slope to demanding reeducation camps.

You're simply more connected to your nation's ethos and history than your peers... and apparently the faculty at your school. It's probably a 9-in-10 chance that the pledge has been pulled because of the "under God" portion that has come under fire in recent years. The scholarly types tend to think that asking kids to say that is tantamount to forcing religion upon them. Plus, it's sometimes difficult to find patriots in academia and since schools are mostly run by academics, it doesn't surprise me in the least to hear about this.

Everyone got really patriotic back in '01 when the towers fell. But 10 years is too much for our short attention-spans. All I can say is... keep the fire burning. We'll need people like you when the shit hits the fan again.

it's a school it's a school it's a school.

as such, it is intended to provide you with information.
daily pledges, uniforms and marching drills instead of information and discussion point towards a nazi state.

you can be patriot and be decent about it, at the same time.

If you are so fiercely proud of your country, why didn't you capitalize America? Actions speak louder than words, so quit your yapping and serve your nation.

What good does reciting the Pledge of Allegiance do? doesn't stop crime. It's a pointless, ritualistic act.
