How can people retweet on my twitter, has my account been hacked?
I have not logged on my account for a long time, but there are tweet and re tweets on my account that I did not tweet? WTF how did this happen? I if I have not been on my account how can these things get tweeted?
No twitter section on YA lol? Just facebook and myspace.

Anyway, I asked on P&S http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/ind...359AAUcIBM but only got answer from people telling me what a re tweet is!

Yes, I know what a re tweet is, I want to know how people have been re tweeting things under my name from my account?

Thanks.

In short: Yes your account is hacked!

However follow these steps and it's likely you will be able to recover it!

This happened to my friend, I managed to fix their PC as it was malware affecting the compromised account ( and PC ) However first of all go to your twitter accounts settings ( https://twitter.com/settings/applications ) and to applications. Remove any applications you have authorized or seem suspicious, or not trusted.

If their are not any apps there then I would recommend a virus scan (Download MalwareBytes anti-malware ) and run a scan in Safe mode (repeatedly press F8 whilst your computing is starting to access safe mode ) The piece of malware that my friend was infected with was called "Trojan.Zbot"

This should clear up your twitter account - Make sure you change your password after removing the possible malware though! - The lesson is to never click suspicious links on twitter, you never know where they could be going to and what they do! Especially "promotions" where you can win "free" stuff! Hope this has worked for you! Smile

(P.S Would you mind posting the logs that Malware bytes produces so I could take a look, also make sure you remove the infection in Malwarebytes)
