I was on twitter and then I clicked on this random account and it was full of child porn pics! Can the police see this as it was an accident!

Nobody cares what you are looking at online.

No, the police can track everyone who has looked at the pics. They will be saved on your hard drive and the police can tell. They will arrest you and you'll probably face prison. You should just call them now and they might let you off with a warning or something.

Hi..
First, you need to report this to Twitter and the police. Second your isp may keep a record of what you so and also your browsing history will show this so as long as you didn't actively seach for illicit material it will be fine. Also if you choose not to report it then why would the police government be checking up on you personally?

To find out what you have been looking at online, the police need to approach your service provider. They will only hand over the information if the police turn up with a warrant, and the police can only get a warrant if they can satisfy a judge that you are likely to be committing a crime. So, unless you are a suspected fraudster, paedophile or terrorist, they're not going to be looking.

It might be a good idea to inform twitter, however, about this account - they will understand that you clicked on it innocently, and that way it can be removed and the relevant authorities informed.

Carry on as normal, you can't be arrested because even if they check, which they won't unless they come to your house and check your computer for some random reason, and even then they can see how long you veiwed the website and they'll see it wasn't too long.
