how to close twitter account. Where is account settings on the twitter page?

Trying to close my twitter account, the instructions say to go into account settings. My twitter page is in French.

Log in and at the top of your page there should be a link to the Settings. After you've clicked on Settings, scroll all the way down and under Save there should be a link that says Delete my account. Click on that and it should ask you if you are sure you want to delete your account. Click Okay, fine, delete my account. Your Twitter will then be deleted. Or if you can't find it, de-activate your account and it will automatically be deleted if you have not re-activated within 2 weeks.

Look for a little gear icon, in the menu that pops up try the second option from the bottom.
