Why is my ex acting like this?

We were friends for about two weeks after the break up. I asked we'd ever be more than friends again and he said he didn't know and he'd see when things calmed down.
We talked quite a bit and things were going well.
About mid week he told me he kinda liked someone else after telling me he missed me the night before.
I said we were better as friends.
He ended up choosing to move in with his parent that lives about 45 miles away, so he transfered schools.
He started acting weird.
I started talking to his friend on twitter.
He tried to join into mine and his friends conversations, and brought up a few old inside jokes.
A few days later i tweeted the friend and got his number.
My ex then unfollowed me on twitter and wouldn't tell me why, but I didn't unfollow him.
He often tweeted a girl that he knew i didnt like back when were dating (shes his ex) and kind of came on strongly to her.
He then followed me again a few days ago and tweeted me twice. I didn't reply (I didn't think the tweets were super important.)
He unfollowed me again just now. What the hell is up with him?
