What is Austin, Tx like?
We are thinking about moving there. I know there is a university. I know it's the capitol. What is everyday life like? Fun things to do? Traffic etc? Best high schools, areas to live? It seems like when I look online for houses there aren't any over 8 years old. Are there any older houses?

Of course there are older houses...Austin has been around quite some time, and they didn't bulldoze all the houses over 8 years old! Try searching on Trulia.com...their advanced search engines will allow you to search using multiple criteria.

Austin is a fun and funky small city. It's unofficial motto is "Keep Austin Weird", which should tell you something. It's popular with young adults and young families, has a vibrant social scene, a decent job market and so much to do that you'd never have an excuse to be bored. The traffic on I-35 through town is ghastly, but SH-130 can get you from one end of the city to the other in minutes, if you don't mind paying the tolls.

Good luck!
