Is it possible to search Facebook or Twitter to find a subject rather than an individual/group?

You can search Twitter by subject. Log into your Twitter account & you will see a search box at the top.
Just type in your subject there hit return & results will be displayed.

Facebook search by keywords can help you, check up site listed below, it allows to narrow down your search results with any criterias like name, location, interests etc. They also got simialr service for Twitter.
