How would you promote kids audio books online?

This should be promoted with viral marketing, social media networking, fax and e-mail blasts, targeted banner and web site marketing, blogging, writing on others' blogs, writing published Internet articles, with public speaking and by promoting the book on sites such as Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Goodreads and Ziggs.

You'll need a lot of money to put into e-marketing and advertising. Depending only for online sales might not work out the way you hope. The social networking sites you mentioned are great, but your problem is getting people to know your pages (and book) exists. That costs money to advertise and market toward your target market. Consider, also, getting physical audio copies of your book and physically selling them at places like fairs or wherever you can rent a booth and sell. Sell out of your trunk if you have to - you're more likely to make more money that way. Self-publishing presents many problems and adequate marketing, promotion, selling, and distribution are the main hurdles. Are you able to get into schools and talk to kids about your book? If you have a young child then speak with your kid's school to see if you can go there and guest speak and talk to the kids and promote your book, even give away a copy to a lucky winner. If you can get kids interested in your book then they'll bug their parents to buy it. There's nothing better than word of mouth. I don't know how it works with UK schools, but this can be done in USA schools. Just an option.

Target the kids, imo.
