How do you know if someone ignored your follow request on twitter?

I requested to follow someone on twitter and it still says that my request has been sent. Will that go away if the person ignores it?

The best way is to go to manageflitter.com. This site will tell you which of those you follow are not following you.

There is no way to check,
there are 2 possibilities either he didnt check his account because normally people can check their followers on weekly or monthly basis or may be possible he ignored your request.

My suggestion:Wait atleast 30 days if he cant follow then you can unfollow him/her
