What is a good hypothesis for my ethogram ?
Im trying to do an ethogram for my cat and i can not for the life of me come up with a question and have to references to back it up!
I thought about aggression in cats nothing, social behavior, PLEASE help me out here! Ads |

An ethogram is just an encyclopedia of behaviors.
Now, if you could figure out the proximal situation that illicits a particular behavior, or if you could come up with a probability tree that shows the likelihood that one behavior follows another, then you could perhaps figure out the underlying rational for the behavior. If you could show some ecological basis/efficiency for a particular behavior, then that also would lead to a greater understanding. Without that, you might as well be describing the types of vegetables in a market. At least in a market, you have a sample size of more than one. Ads |
