Does this Cancer guy miss me or does he just want some attention?

I'm a Virgo. I was talking to a Cancer guy this summer. It was long distance but it was VERY serious. We had been talking for about 3 months when one day we were skyping and he insulted me in a joking way.

I replied "You still love me though."
& he said "Yes, Tanae. I DO love you. Do you love me?"

I said yes and he asked me how come I never say it. I said it would be weird for me to just randomly say I love you. And he said "Not really, it's just how you feel." I'm pretty sure we meant love like "I care about you and I wouldn't want anything to happen to you" love, but I also felt that I could be falling in love with him.

Not long after this day, we got into a big argument. & I cursed at him & he completely shut me out & said I violated him. He called me & we had a LONG convo about the situation but he acted like he didnt wanna talk to me anymore. He was ignoring me so I took it as a hint and told him he didn't have to worry about me contacting him anymore, even though I didn't want to. He told me to calm down, and that he wasn't going to stop talking to me, but he still continued to ignore my calls/texts. So I finally stopped trying and made up my mind that we were through.

He later said that I was too far away and he didn't know when we would get to see each other and he needs to be able to hold and touch his girl, so it wasn't gonna work. I got back in touch 2 months after this, told him I loved him. but his feelings were the same. I could see he didnt care anymore so I told him I was finished & havent contacted him in 2 months. Unfollowed him on twitter, unfriended and blocked him on facebook, haven't looked at anything that has something to do with him since then.

It's been 2 months with no contact and all of a sudden, he liked my picture on Instagram last night. He doesn't even follow me, so he had to search for me to do that... and it was a picture taken weeks ago. Since then, he has liked 2 of my baby sis' pics, one being of me. I feel like he did that cause he knew my little sis would come & tell me. I refuse to contact him... but could it be possible that he actually misses me? Or that he was thinking about me...

He totally misses you. Cancerians wear their hearts on their sleeve but when their emotions get hurt they scurry back in their shell. Basically he put up a huge wall and shut you out. It's completely typical Cancer moodiness. Maybe his wall is coming down or he's at least willing to let you try to break through again. If you're interested, it sounds like he is.
