Is there a way to bypass cell phone number requests?

I'm on Facebook, and have a few select group of friends in there. I like their different quizzes and other applications. However, I find their IQ solicitations quite insulting, especially when it says, "So and so says you're an idiot, prove them wrong and take the test". But worse yet is when you take it, it asks for a cellphone number, something I don't feel comfortable giving and can't go any further or get the results without it.

Is there a way to get around it, and other such quizzes with similar requirements?

These quizzes are marketing scams to get your cell phone number for advertising purposes...
