Question about followers on Twitter?

This question probably gets asked a lot, but I need help. I have a Twitter account, and right now the only people following me are the people I went to high school with (I'm in college now). And I didn't have that many friends in high school, so not that many. But they mainly only talk about drama, and all this depressing stuff about boyfriend/girlfriend stuff. Basically, my passion is video games, and I wanted to base my Twitter around that. But the people I follow probably wouldn't take any interest in that and unfollow me. They don't care about video games, trust me. So I'm not trying to get followers from here, I just want to know how to get people to follow me that would actually take interest in what I talk about. I don't want to talk about drama just so the people who follow me now will keep following me. I don't have a blog/facebook or anything like that to advertise my Twitter on.

Any suggestions?

You just need to tweet about what you like and follow the people that are tweeting about video games. when you follow someone they get a notification telling then that and if they like what you are tweeting they will follow you back.
