Where did the Maya Doomsday myth and misunderstanding come from?
They were using a calender which keeps track of time and has the same functions as any other calender. They Mayans would celebrate the end of cycles just like the new years. Who, and why did they decided this to be used as a tool for "End of Times" prophecies? Where did it all come from? There really are some brain-dead people out there that have given their lives up over a major hoax.

It comes from the US just to scare people and trick them to pay the government to hide in shelters. The Mayans never predicted the end of the world but this day was supposed to be to them was like 31st December is to us , like you mentioned . Also if they were good at predicting things there would've still be Mayans in the world The people who believe that today is the day of an apocalypse then they are more retarded than a child with the genes of Homer Simpson and Peter Griffin . If you remember there were a lot of ,,ends of the world'' like in 199? , 2000 , 2001 , 2011(in may) that never happened due to the fact that they were tricks to scare people . Like my geography teacher says ,,It won't be the end of the world on Friday - you have geography class then '' but something will happen today at 4 pm , something that will cause the sky to darken and the sun to set , something scientists call ,,night'' . Expect lots of posts tomorrow on twitter , facebook and 9gag about it not being the end of the world
