When I get my laptop fixed will they log onto it?
My mum stepped on my laptop yesterday and now when I turn it on the screen goes weird. When I send it to get fixed will they be able to see what's on it? I have all my Facebook, twitter, YouTube etc passwords saved on it and all my photos and videos that I don't want random strangers seeing.
When you turn it on you need the password to get into it. Will they need to get into it?

Highly doubt it.

you could pull the hard drive before you send it off, and when they send it back, just pop the harddrive back in screw those screws and turn it on like nothing happened.

If its lock with a password no they will only replace the screen but your mom better not give them the password to log on just to test

but if this ppl are very mean they can simply take your hard drive out go into your stuff and access and see everything if they want to. I suggest you take your hard drive out before you give them the laptop to get it fix

if you remove the hard drive from the laptop there's a chance it will void the warranty.

anyway it's an issue with the screen, either the physical screen it's self or the connection. Either way it sounds like they wouldn't need to log in unless there is also something else wrong with it.

The people who fix it: it's their job, they want to get it done as fast as possible. If they don't need to log into it to make you happy, they won't. Unless they are a terrible person.. then they will.

For free tool, try the Ophcrack, but it would require some computer skills.
While for some affordable tool, Windows Password Recovery Tool 3.0 would be the most suitable tool for you, it is even simple to use for the new beginners.

Here are the simple guide:
Step 1: Download Windows Password Recovery Tool 3.0 and install it in any available computer
Step 2: Burn a bootable CD/DVD or USB flash drive
Step 3: BIOS settings of your locked computer to make it boot from CD/DVD or USB flash drive
Step 4: Reset Windows password successfully

Choose the most suitable tool for yourself. Good Luck.
