Let me stop you before you claim that New York was flooded in October in the movie and then flooded in reality. That's a hoax. New York never featured at all in the movie. We saw earthquakes in the west and Washington being flooded but no sign of New York.

This hoax was put about by someone trying to scare kids and get them passing it on in school as well as on Facebook and Twitter. In the main, they succeeded because kids blindly believe this sort of thing and never think to check it out.

That's half the problem with the whole 2012 doomsday hoax. People make stuff up and rely on kids and uneducated adults to spread it around, It works every time. In reality, the 2012 doomsday is all baloney, without a scrap of scientific evidence behind it.
