I do have a website, http://www.caremanagersofsfl.com. I would love to go on Steve Harvey's TV Talk Show.

Make a Facebook page, and ask all your friends to like it to get it trending. Put reviews for it or a synopsis for it on YouTube and get tons of people to watch it.

Why does your website lead to an elderly care company? What does this have to do with a book?

People who don't do research on publishing have no business self-publishing a book. You should have known this stuff and formed a plan before you tried to sell a book. You say you want to appear on Steve Harvey's show - have you gone to his website to figure out how to contact him? That's how authors do those things. There's no magic secret.

If your book is published, it's your publisher's job to promote it - having a web page, facebook page and all is welcome help, but your publisher will do the main work.
If you self-published or vanity published, you probably should have checked that out beforehand. if you vanity published, see how much marketing your contract promised you. You're gonna have to hunt them down for them to do it properly, but you should definitely do you best to get your full money's worth - specially at the price some of these guys dare to charge. If you self-published, then you're on your own and with no money to spend on marketing, self-publishing was definitely not a money-making choice. A Facebook page will only do so much. you can also participate in writing forums and put links to your books in the signature of your posts. Try your local bookstores as well and ask if they will allow you to do a book signing. Some stores are happy to support local authors as a community service. |
