I'm shy and I have a crush on a guy and need help... Any advice?

Sorry this is so long but I would really appreciate some help

I've had a crush on the same guy for almost a year now. He's really funny and I like him a lot but we don't talk anymore. We never did talk to much but I still really do like him. At one point last year one of his friends ran up to me and said that my crush anted to date me and then my crush ran up and said "No I don't" really panicky. My friends also said that one day while in the cafeteria (we're in high school) as he was walking by me he was staring at me on his way to me, past me and even looked back at me. They said that it was kind of creepy. I look at him a lot and when we make eye contact it feels like he's looking at me differently than everyone else but I'm probably just making that up because I have a crush on him. I did a 'tbh' thing on Facebook recently and he liked it an hour after I posted it. Then the very next day he did one as well and that was the first time that he had ever done one! I liked it and he gave me a compliment and then said that we don't talk anymore and that we should. I also talked to him on Facebook after that and he asked me if my twitter account picture was a fish and I said yes so he followed me. However, he never says a word to me at school and I'm pretty sure that he had a crush on a different girl. I'm really confused and I don't know if I should just try to get over him (I've tried before but I can't and I don't know why). We don't have any classes together this semester so I only get to see him at lunch but we don't talk. I think that he's really good looking but a lot of people I've talked to don't. We hang out with different people (he's on the football team) and I don't know what to do. Any advice or opinions? Thanks

Darling, I don't want to crush you or anything, and I hate to say this, but I honestly don't think he likes you (In the way that a guy likes a girl that he wants to date - he may still like you as a friend!) (although I could be completely off the mark here. Afterall, I have never actually seen the two of you interact).

Here is my opinion:

If you look at someone enough, chances are that they will probably notice you staring/happen to look in your direction once in a while, which would lead to eye contact.

Maybe your TBH reminded him that he had wanted to do one for a close friend of his or something. Also, saying something along the lines of "Oh, your so pretty and nice and we don't really hang out but we should!" Is one of the most generic and boring replies I have seen hundreds of times in response to people someone doesn't really know liking their TBH status.

Following someone on twitter really isn't that big of deal you know? It's kindof like a thing that you do to as many people as possible so that some of them will follow you back and you'll have lots of followers.

Like I said, I might be WAAAAY off the mark! I don't know him, I don't know you, and it is possible that he likes you! The only way to know for sure is to ask him!
