Rock and Pop:Why do scene/emo kids think they have better taste in music?

Probably because everyone thinks that their own taste in music is best, which is why they like their music. Scene is just stupid in my opinion. A lot of "Scene Kids" are narcissistic and think they are better than most people. I think they look stupid. But who cares anyway right?
just carry on with your life, meet good people, and ignore the foolish ones.

I was kind of thinking about this myself a minute ago

On Twitter a trending hashtag is #1DToWarped2013 (or something like that)

And all these noobs who love Pierce The Veil and Bullet For My Valentine and whatnot, are tweeting all these rude hateful things about 1D

When at the same time, this is the behavior they hate to hear against their bands from "True" metalheads and whatnot

People act like music is some hierarchy and that you apparently only reach the top by listening to Progressive Black Metal/Technical Death Metal. But it's an ears of the beholder thing you know? That stuff isn't meant for everyone!

But yeah, what I'm saying is it's ironic because there are people who think they are higher up the ladder on musical elitism above these scene/emo kids... those kids don't like it when a death-metalhead tells them "BVB ARE FAGS!" or "BFMV SUCKS!" etc etc... so why do they themselves turn around and do that back to others by bashing 1D, The Biebs, or anything else?

So why do they think it? I don't know. But it's WRONG and needs to stop.

Huh? Emo/scene kids boasting their music taste? All I've seen are indie pitchfork hipsters, generic classic rockers who whine about new music and generalise them as autotune pop, and underground metalheads are the ones who are boasting their music taste a lot. I don't know what you are trying to do.

For the record, a small minority of people bash pop music like 1D and Justin Bieber. There's actually a good portion of listeners who dislike this minority for being annoying (these listeners like the same music as the 1D/Bieber bashers, but do not care or want to be reminded every time about them).
