Is it possible to make money from Facebook's IPO?
Facebook shares are overhyped and if lots of people are rushing to buy them when the company goes for an IPO, they should be overpriced and drop pretty rapidly afterwards. If I get a loan so I have some money can I, like, short-sell a bunch of shares or something? I don't know anything about how investing works but I'm pretty sure these shares are gonna be going down.

Sure....
Since you don't know anything about investing - you should try to short a wildly volatile IPO. Your broker likely won't let you do it because there are umpteen traps to foil the unwary. It doesn't matter that you think it will ultimately go down, "the market can remain irrational longer than you can remain solvent". This is a very dumb, amateur idea. Just stay away from this. Ads |
