How reliable of a warning is it when Google Chrome warns me that a site may contain malware?

This is the first time it has happened and it's on a site that I visit often. The warning also pops up when I visit the site's Twitter page. I was just wondering if it could be a mistake and how big of a risk it would be if I actually visited the site.

This sometimes happens to me with facebook, it just means that something is wrong. I would not recommend that you visit the site if your browser does not let you. Consider clearing your cache and history before trying again.
