I was thinking of getting twitter but i want to know what it is. Is it safe? What are the privacy settings?

Almost everything on Twitter is public.Go to their website and read the privacy policy if you want.

The purpose is that you can follow some interesting news sites and check breaking news without having to turn on the PC or the TV.Twitter is a useful thing.You don't have to tweet yourself ,you can just follow others.
I follow some funny people like Conan O'Brian and he always tweets funny sh*t lol
