Depends. If someone has their log in info it can. I have 2 that I know of that are still active over a year later.

Not unless someone removes them. One of old my friends died last summer and I recently got a friend request from her on Facebook. They will stay there until someone either reports it to them or one of the family members removes it.

No, unless somebody with access to the account logs into it and shuts it down themselves. Usually they're either left alone, or taken over by a friend or family member to post pictures in memoriam. That's what happened with my cousin's account when she passed away. A loved one who knew the password took it over and regularly posts old photographs and statuses about old memories, especially on the anniversary of her death.

No. They are left up as "memorials"= for morbid people to peruse.

If the survivors do not have their profile Information, normally, they have to present the account owner's death certificate to get it removed.

If the survivors have the deceased person's screen name and password, they can delete them as if they were the owner.
