How do the famous people on Twitter know when to respond to some1?

*READ FIRST!*... Okay so on my Twitter account recently I asked a question to one of my favorite actresses (actually 2) and they responded pretty quickly, one took a day to respond another the same day! so how do they know who tweeted about them? and respond so quickly... Just curious ^.^

They checked to see if someone @ them. They check, and if they are nice enough they will reply. You must have a higher twitter status, because most don't reply to people with only one follower.

These famous people have a team of community managers/social media assistants that help answer people's public reply or DMs. Of course, they're also using plenty of social media tools out there that can help automate the process. If they respond quick, then they are active on the social sphere.
