Why isn't my pinterest Pin It button working any more for YouTube videos?
My Pinterest Pin It button was working just fine. Then, suddenly today it stopped working, but only for YouTube videos. ANY of them. It doesn't matter what I try to pin, when I click Pin It for the video, it gives me the little image with the "Pin It' symbol on it, but in the window that always appears after that, where I can choose which board, add comments & finally pin, all it says is something to the effect of "sorry, this source is blocked because it may contain spam or other objectionable material".

It doesn't matter which videos or type of video I try to pin; I've tried dozens of different types, even ones I've pinned previously without any problem. I removed my Pin It button and replaced it. I even deactivated my account and opened a new one. It doesn't matter if I used my laptop w/ Windows 7, or the Mac in my home.

My computers are working fine, and just to note this is only happening with YouTube. Vimeo videos pin just fine, and pinning images works just fine too.

Has Pinterest stopped allowing pinners to pin videos from YouTube?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have the same issue. At least two others indicated the same on Twitter last night. I "Submitted a request" to Pinterest Support, detailing the problem. You may want to do the same by clicking on "Help" in the "About" drop-down menu next to your user name at the top of your Pinterest boards page. After clicking on "Help," click on "Support," then on "Submit a request" at the top of the page. Under "What do you need help with?" in the drop-down menu, select "Businesses & Websites," then "Websites," then "Blocked Site."

It looks like most of the Pinterest staff is off for the Thanksgiving holidays, so this problem may take some time to be resolved.

Speaking of "Thanksgiving," we can be grateful that YouTube seems to be the only site affected at this point Smile

UPDATE:

Just received this email from Pinterest:

Aaron, Nov 22 11:09 (PST):
Pinning from YouTube has been restored. We're very sorry for the inconvenience caused by one of our automated spam systems, which we will be reviewing.

Thank you for reporting this issue and looking after our community.

Happy (video) Pinning!
