What's the most effective marketing techniques?
I need new marketing techniques to advertise my security business. I currently use business cards, postcards and brochures, but I'm in need of more ideas. Any suggestions?

Thanks. 10 points to the best answer.

Try having surveys. And have people do small reviews and show those reviews to potential customers and or a certain target audience.

Social Media is a GREAT way to market your biz. Create a business profile on the top sites such as facebook, twitter, youtube and add friend, once you get a lot of friends you can start promoting your links. there is a automated way to do it which works great for me.

That really depends on the type of security you offer (internet security and security guards have very different approaches).

Who is your target market? What do you want them to do? Go to a website, call for an appointment or sign up for something and pay money?

Here is how I would approach it.

1. Describe in writing your business. Yes it is security, but what kind? Why should your potential customer seek out your service? (This is for your own benefit, you will not use this in your advertising, so be brutally honest about what you can and cannot do.)

2. Identify who your customer is. Is it a homeowner or a business. Who makes the decisions: the company president, the IT manager, or the warehouse manager?

3. What do these people use for communication? Email, Social Media, or fliers in the grocery store.

4. Focus on that demographic. Design a campaign to use the media to attract your potential customer.

5. Watch the money flow in
