i want to find my Dutch friends but they are not on facebook, hi5...is there a common website that is being used by Dutch people?

A nice one to use is http://www.wieowie.nl/

- Enter the name of your friend
Voornaam = First name
Achternaam= Surname (Family name)

Then press "zoeken" and it will check all main sites in one go for you. This includes the international ones like Facebook, My Space.Linked in, etc, but also Dutch ones like Schoolbank & Hyves. It also checks the telephone directory (whitepages).

The most common website for friend search in The Netherlands is Hyves, you really should give it a try. It's much bigger here than Facebook or MySpace.

I have heard people talking about this site, but I don't know how popular it is.
It is very similar to friends reunited. It is in Dutch, but the layout is very similar, so you may mannage to find your way around. On the home page there is a map of the provinces in the Netherlands, which may narrow the search down a bit, if you know where they are from.
Enter your friends naam (voornaam and achternaam) sp? then Zoeken .

In fact it has so cornered the Dutch market that after only 9 months (or was it 7?) MySpace has decided to pull back out again... Or was that Facebook? Anyway... Definitely Hyves.nl
