I need more friends? Need help, please post.?

Well here it is, I moved to a new school two and a half years ago and they have been bad. I have literally not many friends. I hate alot of the people there, not saying who but you get the point. Anyway, my mother asks me why dont I have many friends and it pisses her off that I do not have a big "social life". I hate facebook with a passion and I dont have many followers on my twitter, instagram, tumblr, ect. (Ask for me if you want it, lol). Anyway I guess Im not social enough. Also at least 95% of my grade has done either alcohol, drugs, or cigaretts. Im part of that 95% (alcohol) but still, do you think that I should change for people. Anyway the point is how do I make new friends? Most of them smoke weed, (i prefer not to) and how do I be chill about it?

I would definitely NOT change for people, especially when they do drugs and such, but that's just my take on it. Surely you could make friends with people in other grades. You could become active in a club or sport to meet new people, or even volunteer some place. You'll find the right people for you soon. But don't try to change to meet their standards. You will find people with the equal standards and it will be a lot easier to make friends with them. At least you have some friends, right? Stay close to them while you are searching to broaden your social life.

Friends are weird things. Actually, real friends are rare. I know you hear things like that every day, but it's true. Most people that I know always say that they don't have many friends, but the thing is that it's not the number that is important, it's the "quality" of the friend that matters.

I don't have a lot of friends either. I'd say I only have 3 real friends that I know I can count on (though they aren't perfect) and only 1 best friend...we've been friends for 15 years.

I'm sorry that I don't really have a better answer to your question of how to make new friends. It kind of just happens on it's own. I actually came across your question when I was trying to find a way to get more followers on Twitter, like that even really matters lol.
