My boss wants me to make a twitter and facebook account, but i have no friends. what should i do?

my boss keeps nagging me to create a facebook and twitter account because i work for a media company. i keep making excuses because i have no friends and i don't want my boss to see that if i make those accounts. what should i do?

You dont really need friends for Twitter, so you are safe making a twitter account.

Make up some story that you got stalked on facebook and dont want to make one again lol.

I dont really see how its necessary to make an account on either site. You are not obligated to do so, even if he is your boss.

Do it anyway. You can at least add your coworkers then use the site to make new friends.

Make the accounts to satisfy your boss, then don't use them if you don't feel the need to. Plenty of people have myspaces or facebooks that they don't log onto often. Plus, facebook and myspace send you an email when someone requests you as a friend or comments on your profile. That way, you only need to log on when someone interacts with you.

Also, it seems that you can become friends with people you aren't extremely close with on facebook, like people you've only met once. You don't have to be best friends with everyone you are friends with on facebook.

Well, you can go ahead and create a fb account, but ensure that your privacy is such that no one can see your other friends. You go to privacy settings, and then have a field day. You can make it such that people dont see more than your name, profile pic and network/birthday!!
I have done that loads of times when i wanted people to think i was incognito!!!!

well if ur objective is to make new friends.. and ur just shy.. than go ahead and make one.. but if u seriously are not itnerested int he site.. like myself.. than u dont have to do it.
but if u think his opinion matters.. just make it and dont add anyone.. screw what he thinks

The Twitter fans will come, the Facebook fans can be gotten by joining a social dating app or something like that. If you are a girl chances are people will come. Post allot on boards and they have "friend" groups on Facebook that people join just too collect friends! Enjoy!
