You would need a number of customers committed to using your service. Without customers you soon will be out of business.

The amount of capital you need depends on a lot of things. Below are a few things to consider when determining startup costs for a business:
*Misc. startup costs – deposits for electricity, garbage, phones, internet, etc. *Insurance & licenses (to name a few – business registration, EIN, specialized industry safety licenses, premises and liability insurance) *Space – rent or buy or build? Costs depend on location (i.e. rural or urban) and amount of space needed. *Equipment – commercial equipment and supplies, furniture, decorations, point-of sale system, etc. If you rent a space that has had a similar business previously, you may be able to save a lot of money on not having to renovate and on huge costs like equipment. *Employees – this depends on how many employees you’ll need and how many hours you’ll be open. Minimum wage in the U.S. is $7.25 although some states have different laws on minimum wage. Don’t forget to factor in taxes in addition to calculating wages. *Marketing and advertising – manage costs using word of mouth and social media if you don’t have a large budget for marketing *Beginning inventory – finding reputable vendors and developing a good relationship will help you manage costs *Working capital – Plan on having working capital until your business (hopefully) takes off and becomes profitable. This includes rent, equipment, wages, supplies costs, marketing, and other expenses for the entire year. One thing to consider if you don’t have the startup money you need and don’t want to go to a bank – crowdfunding lets people with a great idea get started without digging themselves into debt. Some of these sites are restricted to individuals, but others, including clickstartme.com, allow businesses to raise money through crowdfunding also. |
