Another site or getting facebook . Is twitter really a better option than facebook , iv'e heard that on here andi don't have twitter either.
Are there other social networking sites that are better?
I'd like to use it to find old friends and family members i've never contacted, is this possible on facebook?

Join Facebook. Twitter sucks, imo it's just for girls who love to gossip and tell people about every hour of their life. Facebook is great for finding old friends and family.

YES

I was able to contact lots of old school buddies and other friends / family on Facebook.
Create an account, fill in your personal data, name, birth date and birth place, schools attended, work, etc.
Search for friends or they will search for you.
Good luck.

I've thought of deactivating mine. Although it is handy when getting into contact with friends when they have no phone credit or are hard to get onto. And plus if you want to keep in contact with family but dont really want to talk over the phone etc. or if you want to stalk someone haha, not in creepy ways- just a get-to-know you way Wink

FB is definitely a time waster, but i find out really interesting things, I liked a few fb pages like green reneisance, and eco stuff that gives good advice and tips everyday, i learn cool stuff all the time!

So it will accomodate well for you for what you're after.

Would I suggest Facebook?
Coming from me, no.
It's full of internet sluts that only know how to say "like my status" and a bunch of strangers that bother and stalk you.
Plus, it usually gets too addictive (not all people though) and you end up spending 90% of your time on it.
However, if you do want to connect with your buddies and don't care about what I've stated, guess you could try it out.
Also, it is an option to have both Facebook and Twitter at the same time. There isn't a law restricting the use of both.

You can use FB for many things, meeting new people, hooking up, staying connected with friends and family who live too far away to visit daily or ever. It all depends on what your goal is for FB. If your looking for family and friends, take time to set up your privacy settings so you don't get bombarded by strangers and scam artists. FB is ga great place if your using it to it's full potential. Twitter on the other hand is less personal and to me is just a random thought depository.
