Yeah i know what basically it is. I know all that stuff of following and blah blah blahh... what i dont know is how to post links, and my biggest question (i may sound a little dumb) why most of the people post things like #boring, or #coffee, idk what does that mean !!

any help will be appreciated Smile

The #thenaword is like you can click on it then see other tweets saying the same word.

My biggest advice to you is to NOT follow too many people, that will spam your feed and it will get extremely annoying ..

It's your choice if you want to follow back your followers though!

Because you are limited to 140 characters per tweet, most people use a URL shortener when posting a link in a tweet. For example, the URL for the question you asked is http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...8KbTmlWSgB
aiwrjJjCe5HNG;_ylv=3?qid=20110320211705AA8uzTZ

If I enter the long URL posted above for your question into http://tinyurl.com/4ub5gfr The original URL is 107 characters long, but the new, shorter URL is only 26 characters long. Using a URL shortener lets you post a URL without it taking up so many characters.

When someone says something with the # symbol in front of a word, it is called a hashtag. Using a hashtag makes the word clickable. When you click on a hashtag it does an automatic search for all conversations taking place at that moment about that hashtag.

For example, lets say you were interested in following more people who used humor in their tweets. If you follow someone who uses the hashtag #humor in their tweet, you can just click directly on the #humor hashtag, or you can enter it into the search bar. The results of the search will show you other people who are using the #humor hashtag and you now can look over their tweets to see if any of those people look interesting to you or if you might want to follow them.

Also, if you start using hashtags in your tweets, it makes it easier for others to find and follow you if they are interested in what you tweet about.
