yes they bring traffic for your blog. But you must share quality stuff to build a repute in both these communities. You can use them same as you use Facebook and twitter with a little bit of difference in sharing and organizing stuff. It is age of social media so everyone is using all websites of social media to get benefit and make permanent users fro their websites and blogs. And do not always share your own posts you can share posts from other websites of same niche but again i will say that share only quality stuff only.
