How do you start a "tredning topic" on Twitter?

Im only new to twitter, but I was wondering how to start a discussion topic - the ones that have the # at the beginning? Cheers

You just write a tweet with that word in it, like #dinosaurs. Then if more people start using it, it will become a trending topic. You can also have #multiple topics per #message.

means code. So if you want something to be on the trends, you have to put #whatever. And eventually, if you put #whatever after each of your tweet, it just may go on the trending topics...

for example, "i got these new shoes! #whatever"
or, "#whatever #whatever #whatever
